"The 2015 Chablis Grand Cru Bougros is matured entirely in wooden foudres. It has an attractive bouquet of citrus fruit, nutmeg and subtle waxy scents that become accentuated with aeration. The palate is certainly well balanced, with a fresh line of acidity. This is surprisingly strict and linear with a touch of spice toward the poised finish. Very fine, but it will require two or three years in bottle."

2015 Brocard Chablis Bougros Grand Cru
Jean-Marc Brocard

Situated at the west end of the Grand Cru amphitheater, the Bougros has a very open, pure, and fruity style with a strong Chablis character. It is easily the most supple of the seven Grands Crus wines.

VITICULTURE
100% Chardonnay from 30 year old vines with southern exposures in the village of Chablis. Soils are Kimmeridgian with alternate layers of limestone and marls containing fossilized marine bodies, which give Chablis its fresh minerality. Planted 5,700 vines per hectare and farmed sustainably.

WINEMAKING
Pneumatic press; Natural yeast; Fermentation and aging: 50% foudre - 50% stainless steel vats. Malolactic fermentation completed.
