"They use the original French name of the variety for the 2015 Cot Limited Edition because they want to be different and also because they used French clones of Malbec for their vineyards. The balance here is provided by 5% Cabernet Franc. Here they are careful to avoid over-ripeness and keep the floral character of the grape, which, as we now also see in Argentina, is greatly complemented by a percentage of Cabernet Franc. As the rest of the range, this fermented in stainless steel and matured in second and third use French oak barrels for 14 months. This is a lighter style and a more floral version of Malbec, complemented in the mid-palate by the Cabernet Franc. Winemaker Germán Lyon used Petit Verdot in the past. Petit Verdot is a variety that adds the texture he's looking for but also marks the wines quite strongly even in smaller doses; so, he finds Cabernet Franc works better. This is balanced and fresh, highly drinkable. Delicious! 39,000 bottles were filled in November 2016."
