WINE REVIEW

Pulenta Estate

"I am greatly impressed by the harmony of the 2014 Gran Corte, a red blend (corte is a Spanish word used for "blend" in Argentina) for which they use five varieties with different proportions each vintage. In 2014, it is 36% Malbec, 25% Cabernet Sauvignon, 18% Merlot, 12% Petit Verdot and 9% Tannat from their Agrelo vineyards. It has very good freshness for the warmer and riper classical zone of Luján de Cuyo, with no signs of excess. It had a four-day cold soak with dry ice and then fermented with selected yeasts in stainless steel, oak and concrete vats and matured in French barriques for 12 to 16 months. Tasty, serious and harmonious, very integrated and serious. 12,000 bottles were filled in October 2016."
