WINE REVIEW
Wine Advocate
J. Christopher
90
"The 2014 Lia's Vineyard Pinot Noir comes from 21-year-old vines cropped at 2.5 tons per acre on October 3 and raised for 20 months in 25% new French oak. It has a more open, more vivacious bouquet than other releases: kirsch mixed with strawberry and a splash of cola, all well defined and nicely enmeshed with the oak. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin, pure and lithe in the mouth, spicier than other cuvées from J Christopher this year with a pinch of white pepper enlivening the sappy finish. This is a well-crafted Pinot Noir that I would prefer to enjoy in its youth rather than age."
