Capezzana: Tuscany for the Summer!

/ July 10, 2020

Chambers & Chambers is elated to welcome Capezzana Conte Contini Bonacossi to our portfolio this summer! The Capezzana lands, located in Carmignano, Tuscany, embrace an ancient history of wine making and olive oil production, dating as far back as 804 A.D. The Contini Bonacossi Family came into running the winery back in 1922, and the first bottling of Villa di Capezzano was released in 1925. Five generations later, it is still run by the same family. The dedication to the historical lands, as well as the value instilled to the family run winery, have remained the same all these years.

The Contini Bonacossi Family

Carmignano is one of the four first appellations recognized by the Grand Duke of Tuscany in 1716, and is incidentally the smallest DOCG at 120 ha. Due to its proximity to the Apennine Mountains and Mount Albano within northwestern Florence, the region's micro climate is widely celebrate. Grapes from this region continuously prove to be complex and powerful, as the Super Tuscan's produced are as delightful upon release as they are over the years. The archival vineyards now sprawl across 640 ha on a combination of clay, limestone, schist, and marl, and the grapes are farmed organically. The winery uses natural deterrents to help oppose the usage of any chemical and implement organic fertilizers.

Our collection of wines from Capezzana Conte Contini Bonacossi as a whole provides a taste of Tuscany in the Summertime, with bold, experimental blending's as well as classically made sweet wines to finish the meal with. Cheers to the beginning of a beautiful relationship!
