'Flaco' translates to 'dude' in English and sets the tone of the bottle as an easy going, easy drinking and affordable Tempranillo. The dry farmed vines were planted from 1995-2000 upon clay soils at 750 m (2,400 ft) of elevation. The grapes come from Arganda and Navalcarnero districts located southeast and west of Mardid and experience extremely warm days and cool nights with minimal rainfall. Maceration and fermentation takes 10 days for Tempranillo, followed by 2 days of post maceration at cool temperatures (41F). The wine is then aged in a combination of stainless steel tanks and cement tanks.
Aromatically the wine has notes of ripe and juicy berry fruits as well as crushed roses, and a touch of fresh white pepper. On the palate there are flavors of jammy cherries and raspberries, with smooth tannins that result in a delicious fruit forward wine.
