The 2017 Pinot Noir Block M is the most open-knit and accessible of the Melville Pinots. Earthy notes, tobacco, blood orange, cedar and mint all grace this mid-weight wine. Next to the other Pinots in the range, the Block M is more of a soloist than an ensemble. The 2017 is pretty, but not quite as complex or nuanced as the very finest Pinots in this lineup. Soft contours and silky tannins add to the wine's immediacy and overall appeal.
