VARIETAL: 100% Montepulciano
LOCATION: Fattoria La Valentina was founded in 1990 in Spoltore, a village nestled among the Pescara hills on the central coast of the Adriatic. The nearby forests, mountains and the Adriatic sea are all determining factors in expressing the vine's originality, which includes a 4 ha vineyard in San Valentino in Abruzzo Criteriore.
FERMENTATION: Fruit is hand-harvested and hand-sorted. It is 100% de-stemmed and crushed and goes into vertical, stainless steel fermenters. Maceration lasts a total of 35 days.
AGING: The free-run wine flows into new and used (50/50) French oak barriques where it undergoes spontaneous malolactic fermentation, then matures for 15 months. It is bottled 24 months after the harvest without filtration.
